I cannot say that I am good at skiing but I still decided to spend a couple of weeks this December in one of Czech ski resorts with a good friend of mine. She went there for several times and told me that Czech ski resorts are also excellent and sometimes can be even better than some other ski resorts if Europe. One more pleasant thing is that the prices there are not so expensive in comparison with Switzerland, for instance. So, agreed with my friend to accompany her in the next ski vacation. However, I decided to check everything myself. I searched for more information about Czech ski resorts and was really glad to get to know that there are slopes even for beginners there. If I wish, I can even hire an instructor who will teach me to ski from the slopes but I still think I will do cross-country skiing as it is not so difficult. I have even already found a nice ski hut located not far from the piste in Orlické hory. The region is not as good as Krkonoše but it is still not so over-crowded and then suits perfectly for beginners, like me. So, I expect I’ll remember my ski vacation for ever.

When I was going on holidays to Lithuania in winter, I thought I would do nothing there but stay at a hotel and watching TV. But I was mistaken. It appeared that not only the Alps offer excellent skiing experience, especially for the beginners. We decided to spend our vacation in Lithuania in Birshtonas, a small quiet place where nothing bothers you to relax and enjoy wonderful Lithuanian surroundings. Birshtonas had several ski paths and a hill that was about 40 m high. It was my favorite pastime there. Early in the morning we got up and went skiing. It was the best beginning of a day that I could ever think of.  After skiing we backed to the hotel, had dinner and then went to discover the local sights. But most of all I liked our trip to Anikschai. We saw an old railroad and some of old trains. We also visited the Museum of Horses that impressed me a lot. We also did shopping so I bought some Christmas presents for my family. On the whole, I enjoyed my winter vacation in Lithuania and I thought: "Why not to come in summer again?!"

I adore having a rest abroad. It’s a great opportunity to know other people’s customs, to visit interesting places. So when I went to Italy I got unforgettable impressions. I was in particular in Liguria a wonderful region of this country. The landscape here is really magnificent. The azure sea, sandy beaches are perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Besides you can find a small quiet bay that are plenty there and make it a place of your solitude. There are mountainous parts in Liguria. I visited Ligurian Alps. I rented accommodation at Riviera di Ponente which is known as "the coast of the setting sun" (can you imagine what sunsets there are) and then traveled along the coast. To my mind this is the best way to get as much impressions as possible. I was in Genoa and visited La Strade Nuove which includes gorgeous buildings of the Renaissance and Baroque style. I visited different restaurants and tasted national pizza and "Pesto alla Genovese” which tasted very good. Wine and olive oil completed the whole picture of Italy. I concluded that this country is made for the rest, for a really good rest. I will surely spend my next vacation in Liguria.

I am very interested in traveling and I like to visit various historical sites. This time I went to Padua, an ancient city located in Venice region. I got much pleasure form my trip there as I found many interesting sights in Padua. I went on various excursions around Padua that a friend of mine who lives there organized for me. We started my acquaintance with Padua with its prominent University. It was built in the 13th century and it was the second Italian university. A lot of famous people studied there. We also visited numerous churches there but I especially liked the church of St.Antonio. In the evenings I left the apartment I lived in and we went for walks around the city. We visited various local cafés and taverns, where I had an excellent opportunity to try delicious Italian food and wine. I especially liked lasagna and I even asked my friend to teach me to make it. On the whole, it was an unforgettable trip to Padua and the next time, when I travel to Venice region, my friend promised to show me Venice, the city on the water.

It is a fact that each person chooses rest at the desire and taste. Some people prefer summer holiday. It is a great pleasure to have a rest after a whole year of hard work or study.
